It just so happens that in spite of the changes ushered in by the new edition, the save games from the original Borderlands are compatible in its Enhanced Edition. All you then need to do is use WillowTree as you would regularly and modify your original Borderlands save. Then, just boot up the Enhanced Edition and import your character.
